Based in Wellesley, MA, Heather F. Adams, Ph.D. Neuropsychology is a private practice specializing in the neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents, and young adults beginning at age 4 years and continuing through college age students. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Heather Adams specializes in evaluating children starting at age 4, adolescents, and college students with:
Dr. Adams has extensive experience and training in the evaluation of neuropsychological disorders and emotional difficulties, such as anxiety and depression. She also identifies and assesses children with exceptional abilities.
Through her practice of neuropsychology, Dr. Adams seeks to help parents, teachers, students, and other healthcare providers in understanding the individual strengths and weaknesses of each student. To develop an understanding of each child’s cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional development, she uses standardized tests and questionnaires as well as observation and developmental history information. She also conducts interviews with the student and his or her parents, teachers, tutors, or therapists.
A detailed report of the evaluation results explaining whether the student meets the particular diagnostic criteria is provided for your review. In addition, each report includes specific recommendations for parents, teachers, and health care professionals on how they can help the student's development and academic progress.
Even when a student does not meet the criteria for a diagnosis, the insights from the evaluation process are helpful and can provide you with important guidance.
