Dr. Heather F. Adams is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents, and young adults. She has specialized training and particular clinical expertise and experience in the diagnosis of ADHD, learning disorders, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, and mood disorders. In addition, she evaluates the exceptional abilities and characteristics of students and children who are suspected to be within the gifted range.

She graduated magna cum laude for her bachelor’s degree in psychobiology at Wellesley College and was recognized by Phi Beta Kappa for her excellence in academics. Dr. Adams earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with dual areas of focus—developmental psychology and neuropsychology.

Her predoctoral internship training in clinical psychology was at the Boston Consortium. This included training rotations in both child psychology and neuropsychology. She completed her two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Boston Neuropsychological Services.

Dr. Adams has also assessed and evaluated children as part of many research studies at Boston Children’s Hospital, including those investigating the cognitive effects of premature birth and learning disabilities. In addition, she is a certified teacher in secondary education in Massachusetts, and she has experience with applied behavioral analysis and behavior modification.
